From the CAO

The CAO, Devin Bellerose smiling

I first want to acknowledge the passing of our beloved Elder Liza Wolf. Liza was an amazing leader in our community and I was lucky enough to meet her a few times. At her funeral celebration, it was wonderful to see so many people come together and share stories about how Liza had personally touched their lives. She will be missed by so many people and I again want to extend my deepest condolences to everyone in the community.

Spring is upon us and as we welcome a new season, the staff at PRFN is working hard together to build out new plans and processes to help ensure a strong 2023 for the community. We are rolling out a successful financial reporting plan in the next month that will include quarterly reporting and monthly cash flow reporting. This will provide our executives with a better idea of what resources are available and provide more opportunities to plan for their departments.

We have recently posted positions for a new Manager of Health & Social Services, as well as a new Manager of Operations & Maintenance. We will be posting the Economic Development position in the coming weeks. If anyone is interested, please check out the full job posting on the website or contact me for more information.

The Burn plan was a strong community initiative and we have had some discussions with the Trust requesting a “Top up” to extend the plan. We look forward to hearing back. As always should you have any specific questions about the Trust they should be addressed to your Trustee.

We have been working behind the scenes to streamline our communications with the executive team & department managers. We have established a weekly reporting process to help with our internal communication. This will make it easier to keep members more informed on what’s happening in all departments.

As the weather starts to warm up, I hope you take some time to enjoy the spring sunshine and the longer days ahead. As always, my door is open and I look forward to hearing from members with suggestions, ideas, and questions.
