Identity Film Camp Laugh Out Loud Edition. Explore Wardrobe & Makeup Design, Set & Film Design, Filming Techniques

C.I.A Solutions Inc., a majority Indigenous-owned company, is deeply committed to fostering growth and development through the arts, with a particular focus on community development and mentorship in media arts. Our dedication to bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in Grande Prairie and beyond has been a driving force behind our work. Following 6 successful youth film camps since 2019, we are poised to offer a unique filmmaking workshop to the youth of Prophet River First Nations, aimed at harnessing their creative expression and introducing them to the filmmaking process.

Our initiative seeks to engage Prophet River First Nations’ youth in a comprehensive filmmaking workshop, designed to empower their storytelling abilities and expose them to new career avenues outside conventional paths. This program is designed to foster an inclusive environment for youths aged 12-17, promoting a deeper exploration of identity and collaborative community storytelling, fostering a sense of achievement and community perspectives of the participants. These films will be valuable assets for both C.I.A Solutions and the Prophet River First Nations, highlighting the creativity and insights of the community’s youth.

Workshop Schedule:

Day 1 – Introduction to filmmaking principles ( Sound, Camera, Lighting Equipment), collaborative scriptwriting exercises, and acting orientation.

Day 2 & 3 – Hands-on film production experience, covering makeup, wardrobe, lighting, sound, and camera operation. Creating and Filming Short Films.

Day 4: Finalizing film projects & Closing

The camp is structured to provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences, guided by professional facilitators to inspire and educate participants through each step of the filmmaking process.

At C.I.A Solutions Inc., we are passionate about the power of media arts to transform lives and communities. This collaboration with Prophet River First Nations represents an exciting opportunity to empower youth through storytelling, creativity, and shared experiences. We are committed to this project and eagerly anticipate the chance to bring this vision to life.
