Sikanni River Ranch Update – June 2024

We are excited to welcome Jannah Kohlman as our new General Manager for Sikanni River Ranch. Jannah comes with a wide variety of experience including a background in Finance and Business Development from JDL Office Solutions. She holds an MBA in Advancing Reconciliation from the University of Victoria. Jannah is a proud member of the Saulteau First Nation and the Gauthier family. Jannah was raised on a horse ranch between Dawson Creek and Chetwynd by her mother, Brenda Grunewald, and her father, Ken Kohlman (Ted’s Service).

In her first month, Jannah has visited the ranch along with Beattie Lake and Trimble Lake, to take notes and several photos for the enhancement of the Sikanni River Ranch website. An application has gone into NDIT for a new marketing initiative and work has been done to connect with ministries and BC Parks.

We have secured funding for a Remote First Aid Training Certificate Program through Indigenous Tourism BC. If you are interested, please get in touch via email at [email protected].

A lot of work has been done at the ranch to prepare for the upcoming Gathering of Drummers event, including the installation of a new stove, cabin refinishing and fence repairs. We want to thank all of the people that have been working on the ranch improvements. F

inally, we are actively collecting surveys about what members would like to see at the ranch in the futureIf you have not done so, please complete the survey at: ProphetRiverFirstNation.com/Sikanni-Ranch-Survey
