This camp was close to Mile 200 on the west side of the old Alaska Highway. Every summer Prophet River people would move the camp location around a little bit so that they could have new firewood supplies and not deplete the resources of the area. They would strip the bark/cambium off of the poplar trees to kill them, and then the next year the poplars would be available as seasoned firewood.
